First of all, you have my sincere admiration for adopting. People who adopt and people who support the system by fostering are heroes.

I think your story is powerful. I also think it indicates how important the family is to education. The best way for children to learn to speak is by hearing adults talking. The best way for children to learn to read is by having adults read to them. That was what your triplets were missing. The school system is not even remotely equipped to handle children who are not already educated, but like you mention, there are cases where school is the last resort. Thankfully there are some schools and some teachers who are equiped to help kids with special needs, but I wonder how many kids are slipping through the cracks.
