In your view, is there any inherent value in human life?

I don't want to speak for you, but I sure hope so. If not, you are able to justify just about any atrocity if it suits your interest.

But life is inherently valuable, it seems worthwhile even if it's hard. I'm all for seeking happiness and avoiding pain, but if that's all life means to you, nihilism is just around the corner. Because life sometimes isn't happy and no one has ever fully avoided suffering.
