I definitely think the crossing the street thing is the part that scares me most because I think that’s where the greatest chance of something bad happening lies. When we cross the street together, we don’t always hold hands anymore and I often let him go out ahead. I think he’s getting pretty good at checking both ways, but there’s been a few times when he wasn’t paying attention and I had to tell him to stop. I’m not sure if there is a specific age where kids are ready, but it’s definitely a good point that it does seem to take practice before they get consistent at it.
