I really like gallantry in the public space. I'm all for it if a woman gets served first and the man gets the check brought directly to him. I love the notion that if a women joins the table the men should all stand in a sign of respect.

I get that you and many others don't like these things, but there are plenty of people who do. We can only make one crowd happy and I'm all for giving this one to the traditionalists. Relationships between the sexes are so much more vibrant when there are strong gender roles.
