What exactly would you say are America's founding values? I'm guessing you wouldn't say that the notion that all men are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights among which are life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I'm also guessing you wouldn't say e pluribus unum. My case would be that those are America's founding values. It has not always lived up to these values, but appeals to these ideas have always held a powerful resonance. Frederick Douglass appealed to them in his fight against slavery. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. appealed to them to fight racism and legalized discrimination.

Out of curiosity, where do you stand on abortion? I can't bring myself to believe that you are anything other than pro life given your last comment, but I don't want to assume anything
